Catering Consultancy ServicesWe offer you a wide range of services - all of which are aimed at ensuring your project reaches a satisfactory conclusion. Each new project is approached in a thoughtful and structured manner, delivered on time, within the agreed budget and to your complete satisfaction.
Strategy DevelopmentWhether you are starting out afresh or simply reviewing your current provision, we will work with you to help to develop a clear and concise direction for your catering and allied services. Using their extensive industry knowledge and well-tested methods, our consultants can prepare fully costed option appraisals, undertake market research by online surveys and face-to-face interviews, produce gap analyses and provide you with robust and well-argued reports from which informed decisions can be made.
Cost Management and ReductionBy detailed analysis of the financial performance of your services we will reveal areas of actual and potential cost over-run, identify variances from budget and prepare a year-end forecast. Following this process, we will identify deliverable savings and economies that can be achieved and potentially suggest service changes that might produce additional and profitable income streams.
Tendering and Market TestingHighly experience in the production and evaluation of competitive tenders, we are fully qualified to advise on both the OJEU process as well as all other forms of market testing. We will prepare service specifications designed to meet your exact needs as part of a complete package of tender documents. We will then undertake any pre-qualification required before embarking on the evaluation of bids received and the negotiation of the final contract. Our expertise also enables us to advise and assist with the production of commercially viable and attractive in-house bids.
PurchasingThe cost of food and other consumables is always an issue – whether you employ a contractor or manage an in-house operation. Areas of uncertainty often include supplier discounts and the market price of goods actually charged into your catering account. We will audit and analyse your current purchasing arrangements for you, and suggest alternative ways in which you can realise savings while maintaining quality. As independent and impartial advisors we are ideally placed to provide you with our unbiased recommendations.
Sustainability and Green ProcurementThis topic is very close to our hearts, and there are many ways in which we can help an organisation to achieve its CSR aims. Whether it be issues such as local sourcing, ethical procurement, organic production, animal husbandry, fairtrade or food miles, we can always advise on suitable sources of fresh, healthy food and supplies. The reduction and control of energy consumption within your kitchens is also of paramount importance. We can provide everything from a complete energy audit of your catering facilities to advice on the replacement of individual items of equipment.
Service ReviewsWe can undertake either 1-off reviews or provide a regular monitoring of your services at agreed intervals. In all cases our examinations will include a written evaluation of the range and selection of food and beverages on offer, together with a report on the standards of service and customer care, the hygiene and cleanliness of the facilities, a health & safety audit, a review of the management and administration and an overall assessment of the value for money being received.
On-going Operational SupportSelf-operated services often require additional support and advice to maximise their potential uptake and maintain standards of food and service. Long term in-house services can easily become isolated and unaware of current market developments. Our support is also especially relevant where catering and hospitality services have recently been taken back under in-house management. The type of help and advice required will often include menu costing, planning and analysis, the sourcing and purchasing of goods and equipment, HACCP and hygiene, compliance with legislation, staff training, financial reporting and general organisational management. Our friendly and highly experienced consultants will provide the necessary additional resources to aid and uphold your in-house team.
Design & EquipmentThe successful outcome of your project will depend upon the quality of the design process. Our highly experienced kitchen designers will seek practical and cost effective solutions that fully reflect your needs. We are equally used to working within design teams or to our own initiative, depending upon the scope of the project in hand. Typically we can provide any level of input required including conceptual designs and visualisations, detailed layouts, M & E drawings, equipment schedules, budget costings, tendering and procurement and supervision during the installation of equipment.
We are proud to fully endorse and support the Hospitality Network, which is a new no membership, no fees, no obvious rules, and a “pay as you dine” thought leadership and ideas exchange organisation.
Born from a group of caterers and consultants who meet informally to discuss industry issues over lunch and a glass of wine, it has now grown into an organised series of events that sees a more and more diverse range of people all joining together for the good of the industry.
